Alice was born on the 15th june 1931,in kirkburton, the eldest and loving daughter of Alice and
Arthur Hannam, Alice was the most adored and loving wife of Gerald (Wood) for 51years, she has one
sister Elsie and three Brothers the youngest one is Leslie.a devoted and loving mum of christine,
Angela, Steven and Michael, a dear mum-in-law. and a cherished and adored Grandma of 12, and a Great
Grandma of 11.and a dear sister-in-law, niece and cousin.
Alice started her working life as a baker, going on to become a mender. she loved doing her
embrodiery and made lots of beautiful tablecovers and mats.she also enjoyed home baking,and watching
sport on tv, for many years she went to watch Hudderfield Town. Alice was a regular attendant at All
Hallows church in Kirkburton and was a member of the mothers union.Alice very sadly passed away on
november 21st 2002.Not only was she was my beautiful cherished mum she was my best friend and i love
and miss her so very much R.I.P mum love Christine xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

i cant believe next month(2 days before my mums birthday) it will be 6 years since i walked in the hospital and saw you lying peacefully in bed i couldnt stop crying because you'd gone, grandad gave have a nice hug and told me it would be ok i think he was being really brave.
i wish we could go to brid again i loved going on holiday with you and grandad, i have a great photo of you and grandad together sat on a bench eating fish and chips and it makes me smile, ive taken my little boy paul to the beach at brid and hes loves it just like me.

Hi Mum, we have just been to your favourite place Bridlington for two weeks, we took Dad with us again,its still not the same without you, as we all have such special memories of you, how much you used to enjoy your fresh cream and strawberry waffles and your plates of mussels, you used to say you cant go to the seaside and not have a plate of mussels,how we used to laugh when we used to go for a paddle in the sea, holding our skirts up so we didnt get them wet those were the good days which i miss so very much, love and miss you so much mum and i always will goodnight godbless you all my love always and forever from your loving daughter Chris xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
